Hey DMS! Let's talk about going Paperless!

Based on our initial conversation in our faculty meeting at DMS, use this blog as a place to dialogue and give feedback about going paperless.  What would it look like?  What are your concerns?  What suggestions do you have?  What could you do in your classroom to make a difference?  What do you need to get started? What needs to be in place to make it happen? Share your thoughts.

  1. I've been wondering about our laminator and laminating expenses, as well as paper use. Does laminating cut down on the use of paper? If we need to upgrade our laminating equipment, that may be the end of laminating. How important is laminating?

  2. Do we really need copiers if we have scanners? We can scan everything we need ahead of time and send the scans to Lynda Schmidt. This would mean planning two days ahead. This isn't "paperless" but it would be a step in the right direction...

  3. I like the idea brought up about having to use your code to be allowed to print. That holds teachers accountable for their printing and makes us better reflect upon the need of the printing prior to clicking the print button.

  4. If we agree as a building to commit to this, or anything for that matter, the sky is the limit!

  5. Interesting "how to" article in April edition of Tech & Learning about going paperless called No More Paper No More Books. Has many nice tools and tips, could be a good resource. http://www.techlearning.com/article/52360
